Paths to QUALITY™ (PTQ) is Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating and Improvement System. In order to improve the quality of child care programs, states across the nation are using Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS), such as the one here in Indiana, Paths to QUALITY™. These systems also provide an accountability measure for funding and create an alignment between licensing, subsidy and quality across child care, Head Start and the Department of Education’s early learning guidelines. The system validates child care programs for ongoing efforts to achieve higher standards of quality and provides incentives and awards for success.

Job Description

  • Travel to various areas of the state to conduct providers' rating request to verify PTQ

  • Standards compliance

  • Schedule and Conduct PTQ rating visits with providers

  • Utilize the Tablet PC and Wireless Web forms tool to complete providers' rating visits

  • Adhere to the procedural and contractual obligated timelines and guidelines of the PTQ objectives

  • Completes a minimum of twelve (12) hours of Professional Development annually

  • Provide feedback to community stakeholders regarding PTQ Standard compliance

  • Participate in monthly PTQ staff and stakeholders meetings as scheduled

  • Maintain monthly expenses and report in timely manner

  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Early Care and Out of School Learning (OECOSL), and other PTQ Partners

  • Assist in all areas of PTQ implementation, as needed

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with kindergarten endorsement preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 credit hours in college level courses with documented content relating to the needs, skills, development, or teaching methods of children six years of age or younger; or a Child Development Associate Credential

  • Two years of relevant experience working with children and families in the childcare field

  • Knowledge of the PTQ Standards policy for Licensed Child Care Centers, Licensed Homes and VCP Ministries

  • Knowledge of early childhood embedded practices

Travel

Frequent travel is expected for this position. A personal reliable form of transportation is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Authorization

Background checks include criminal, civil, employment, education, child protective index, sex offender registry, fingerprints, and TB testing required bi-annually. Drug screening in compliance with drug free workplace standards.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional home environment as a remote worker. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
