The Role

The Automated Account Openings Operations Specialist provides internal and external stakeholders support on LFN's Automated Account Opening tools (AAO). S/he focuses on several different types of AAO tools while also providing tool functionality training to the operations and business practices teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides in-depth research for more difficult questions related to status and AAO functionality.

  • Supports LFN on internal or external questions and escalations related to AAO functionality and operational procedures.

  • Supports requirements (as applicable) and testing for new functionality and defect remediation.

  • Handles escalations related to submissions made incorrectly and/or submissions requiring corrections.

  • Acts as an intermediary and supports training of internal and external vendors and stakeholders on AAO tools.

  • Provides guidance to internal and field users of the AAO tools regarding system functionality and how to submit business.

  • Stakeholder in determining communication requirements for new functionality and defect fixes to the field and the home office.

  • Identifies differences between incorrect usage of the tools and systems defects, and trains, reports, and communicates as necessary.

  • Identifies AAO tool gaps and missing/incorrect requirements and reports accordingly.

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience

Experience

  • 1-3+ years of experience in operations or financial services that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

  • Advanced understanding of all 5 AAO tools, including integrations with external vendor systems and back office databases.

  • Thorough understanding of Investment Services and Business Practices policies and procedures, with the ability to tie those policies and procedures to the use of the AAO tools.

  • Familiarity with the LFA and LFS broker/dealer model.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, proposals and standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to write correspondence, policies and proposals to various targeted audiences

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or regulatory or industry-related communications

  • Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to effectively interact and partner with all levels of the organization including senior leadership

  • Critical thinker with an ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or strategy

  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels

  • Ability to find common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers
