Raytheon Materials & Processes Engineer in Terre Haute, Indiana
Raytheon intends to offer a proposal in support of the solicitation to support shipboard radar antenna overhaul and repairs to include refurbishment of shipboard radar arrays and pedestals. These services will include but may not be limited to assessment, repair and testing support of antennas at contractor and customer facilities, including overhaul and refurbishment services for a wide range of shipboard radar antennas. Services to be provided at Raytheon Indianapolis and on site at NSWC Crane, Indiana. This position is for a materials & processes engineer supporting manufacturing programs. Job responsibilities include providing material and process support for repair depot efforts for restoration of shipboard antenna systems. Activities include consultation for corrosion issues and remediation, surface preparation, shipboard system coatings, and coordination with EH&S. Team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience are desired. Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required. Required skills : National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Certified Protective Coating Specialist Hands-on knowledge/experience solving corrosion problems (shipboard preferred) Strong knowledge/experience with interpreting technical drawings, specifications, ship board radar systems, and supporting refurbishment team Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance with interim clearance Desired Skills: Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management Experience in a production environment Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, and Powerpoint); Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare written training documentation; Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent plus minimum of 8 years of experience Positions are contingent on contract award.
